Georgia Tech Starbucks Order-Ahead App

Fall 2013

During the fall of 2013 (my junior year), I took an Engineering Psychology class (PSYCH 2270) in order to further my education in the concepts of engineering psychology and user experience research. Our professor decided to make the class partially lecture based and partially project based; using the principles we discussed in class, groups of four redesigned existing spaces or environments to make them more user friendly.

My group decided to design an order-ahead app to cater specifically towards the very popular Starbucks location in an on-campus building. Our hope with this mobile app was to expedite the process of ordering a drink in the ten minutes alotted between class times.

Over the course of the semester, we conducted initial surveys to determine the demand for such an app, created a wireframe prototype using LucidChart, and demoed the prototype to determine user satisfaction.
