Garrett and Marie Malmquist's Wedding Website

In July of 2016, two of my friends got married to each other. After sending out their Save the Dates, they asked me about wedding websites for their engagement photos and to create an online RSVP system. Both Garrett and Marie are software developers, so I had no doubt they would be able to create a functional website and form, but they needed a bit of help figuring out what else to include on the website and how the site itself would look. I took that moment to brush up on some prototyping software and skills to help them design the website.

Once I showed them the wireframes I created to give them an idea of what to include, Garrett asked if I could help a bit more with the design itself. So I made some quick mockups of what the site could look like with their color scheme and what sort of shapes they could use as buttons to create some contrast between titles and the navigation bar.

Once I had helped them figure out what content they should have and gave them some design ideas, Garrett and Marie were able to whip up their website! Of course, some things changed during the process of putting the site together, including getting rid of the landing page altogether, a slight change of color scheme and changing the feel of the site from casual to a bit more formal. But the overall flow that we decided on stayed pretty much the same.
